Catriona Stanton's practice intersects drawing, sculpture, performance and installation investigating the elemental and kinaesthetic experience of place. Raw materials such as bamboo, spinifex, coal, ice, water and wood are harnessed for their poetic associations with how the land works its influence shifting perspectives. Reoccurring themes of resilience and repetition are seen in works using line and abstract form. Catriona is based in Canberra after spending considerable time living in remote and regional across Australia including including the tropics of the Top End, the Central Desert and the South Eastern escarpment .
